Be jealous, be very very jealous!

Oh yes, you should be. I bought her today at our resale shop here in our town!! I am so excited I am shaking! Guess how much I got her for?
I think I'll name her "Betsy" -after Betsy Ross, of course!
She is older than me by a good 22 years. That would make her only 42... ha ha.
She was actually manufactured in New Jersey in 1953.
And she's quiet as a mouse (both when in use and when she's tucked away for storage-
which won't be too often!).

Welcome to the family BETSY!!!

And his two best buddies, Tyler and Landon S. were also doing the crossover as well since they're all 3 days apart. Proud of you Hunter!

I am sad...

Christian Taylor Seamons
October 23, 1976-February 16, 2009
This is my awesome cousin Chris... and little did I know that when I went to Utah for a quick "get away" weekend last October, it would be the last time I would see him. I drove into his parents driveway and he gave me a huge hug. Then we went into the kitchen and he sat on the counter and ate a bowl of cereal while we chatted about life and all the
pretty girls he was dating.
He passed away sometime Sunday/Monday in his sleep and was found peaceful in his bed on Monday afternoon. I still cannot believe he is gone-- and I thank GOD I have the knowledge that I will see him again.
Chris was ALWAYS the life of the party. He defied death a million times on a snowmobile and yet, how ironic it was that he died in his sleep-- not in any danger at all. I loved his smile... he had the biggest grin, especially when he'd be "in trouble" (even at age 32!) and he'd just flash that smile and get out of anything!!

His friends knew him as DJ Pilot. He was one of the most popular DJ's in Utah. He just finished Dj'ing Sundance Film Festival a few weeks ago. He was soooo cool- whoever gets his CD collection is "one lucky dog." (and that's exactly how Chris would've said it.)
I love you Chris. Even though I only saw you a few times a year, those times were precious. You presence will be GREATLY missed at all family parties and reunions. It is so comforting to know that you are up in heaven with Grandma and Papa eating cracked wheat and homemade mac'ncheese. Will you just tell them to stop recruiting? No more family members joining them until we can all do so together!!! Hugs and kisses to you and your family. I love you all and wish I could be there this weekend to celebrate your life. It sure was a life to celebrate!!!
Here is a story by Elder Vaughn J. Featherstone about Chris:
In President Daines's stake down here we have a man by the name of David Seamons, and his wife, Ann, is on the Young Women general board. Some woebegone, ill-thinking soul last Christmas subscribed to Playboy magazine for this wonderful family. It came in January, and they were offended. As I understand the story, Brother Seamons called up the circulation department and told them they were members of the Church and didn't appreciate the subscription and that they would like to know who subscribed for them. The subscription department wouldn't tell them who it was. Then Brother Seamons told them, "Don't send us anymore. We don't want your magazine. We refuse to accept it."
Well, the next month the second copy came. Chris Seamons, their eight-year-old boy, took things into his own hands. He wrote a letter to Playboy, and these are the exact words: "Playboy, I think the magazine you sent us was quite uncalled for. I think your magazine is quite perverted. If you send us another one, I personally will take action." You just have to admire a kid like that. The best part is that on the back of the envelope he put, "Please send back my stamp."
Love you Chris!!!

Check your child's homework BEFORE they turn it in...

(Here's the reply the teacher received the following day)

Dear Mrs. Jones,I wish to clarify that I am not now, nor have I ever been, an exotic dancer. I work at Home Depot and I told my daughter how hectic it was last week before the blizzard hit. I told her we sold out every single shovel we had, and then I found one more in the back room, and that several people were fighting over who would get it. Her picture doesn't show me dancing around a pole. It's supposed to depict me selling the last snow shovel we had at Home Depot.>From now on I will remember to check her homework more thoroughly before she turns it in.
Sincerely, Mrs. Smith

p.s. this is not my kids' drawing, but going on Brock's previous drawings of me, it could have been!!

California, here I come-

Right back where I started from...

LOVE California.  Grew up here, this is home to me.  I am helping my mom with a conference in Anaheim for a few days.  Superdad is at home with all 5 kids... and thriving.  Thanks babe for letting me come, my mom owes you.  I do too- especially being gone for Valentine's Day. I'll make it up to you later!!! :)

Until then, Mom & Dad, Becca, In-N-Out, Del Taco, Rite Aid (double chocolate malted crunch icecream), Beach, California Sunshine, and rush hour traffic... I 've missed you, so good to see you again.

100th day of school

Hannah was "very sick" this morning until she realized it was the 100th day of school. Up she hopped out of my bed and got ready for the 100th day of school. At our school, they dress up like 100 year olds. Pretty funny, I'd say.

Happy Birthday to MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I'm not going to tell you how old I turned today... but I am getting OLD!
The breakfast of a protein dieter on her birthday. Bill asked me what I wanted and I said CARBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My presents, too many of them!

This was soooo cute! Bill was all dressed and ready for work. He had gotten the kids up and was just about to leave (I thought!) when he told me to open a present. This is what I opened:
I was like, "Oh! Awesome- I'll have to make an appointment sometime." And he said, "You've already got one! Your appointment for a massage is @ 9 and mani-pedi @ 10:30." (No, he does not know the term "mani-pedi"... that was my insert.) He wasn't going to work-- he was staying home with the killer B's all morning so I could go be pampered!! I could not believe it-- just what every girl needs: a massage, mani-pedi, some juicy gossip and chocolate!! How well does he know me?

Then- he wanted me to open one more present. This really cool earring holder from my fav store, Sam Moon. AND- a gift card to go get more earrings! Like I need more!!! But I really do. I got 6 more earring/necklace sets yesterday! yummy!

We went to lunch @ CHIPOTLE (another carb loaded delicious fav of mine-- LOVE THEIR CHIPS!!) and shopping... it was so fun! Then, when the kids got home, I opened the rest of my presents:
Yes, I got a snuggie... because it's cool and I am always cold!

He also got me some Mary Jane Crocs and an ipod tuner to play my ipod music in the burb. He's so cool-- and NONE of it was last minute. Oh, and LOTS AND LOTS of chocolate and 2 little pints of my very own icecream. Again, how well does he know me?!
Dinner at Macaroni Grill- gotta load up on the carbs while I can! Cake at Macaroni Grill-- and home for more cake...
He made this INCREDIBLY YUMMY cake while I was at school on Tues. night. All by himself. I am so proud. So touched. Seriously.

I'm not going to tell you what I wish for! (it's the same wish every year!)

And here he is: HUSBAND OF THE YEAR. Sorry ladies... it's him- the hottie in the pic below. He got the MVH award. I couldn't have had a better day.

Thanks babe, I love you forever!!!

Last night after the family festivities I went to Chili's (for more dessert!) with friends. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day. Thanks ladies- wish we would have snapped a couple photos of our beautiful selves!

And now back to my diet. UGH. Why can't birthdays be everyday?

Punk Rocker

After watching Bruce Springsteen on the stage at the Super Bowl Half Time Show last night, Barrett thought that Bauer needed a little "punking up."

So he went to work and I think it turned out great, don't you BAUER?

All Caged Up

This is what I do when I get a little tired of the "killer B's" - just lock 'em up and throw away the key. It works fabulously for me to go run errands, get my workout in, and take a nap.

JOKING HERE EVERYONE! Don't call CPS on me! Bauer crawled in Dodger's cage and Barrett thought it would be fun too. They were quickly de-haired and bathed following their release.
