Pinewood Derby #3 (for Brock- #6 for the Sivleys! 9 more to go!)

Brock's last Pinewood Derby was on Sat., March 27th. He was pretty excited. He worked really hard on the design and painting of the car.

Our ward takes this very seriously. We have a professional metal track and computerized times. There were 21 cars and 84 heats.

The first Pinewood Derby Car made by the Sivley family never crossed the finish line. But that was 4 years ago... now good 'ol dad is a pro!!

Brock's car did fantastic!!!!!!! Go Sharkboy!

Look who's too cool for the Derby!?!

Part of Brock's cheering section, complete w/ derby shirts! (and cookie faces!) Grammy and Papa Sivley were there too. It was a fun day.

Brock won 2nd place OVERALL!!!!!!!

YAHOO Brock! Great job! Good times, good times.

Last Minute Hawaii Trip

So we took a last minute trip to Hawaii... it was SOOO fun! Way too short (only 3 days there), but it was worth every minute! My parents and 2 older brothers and their wives had all planned this trip since the beginning of the year. It was to celebrate "BIG" birthdays and just to have a nice break. My brother had rented a house on the North Shore of Oahu and it was big enough for 10! We had considered it, but given that we had a new baby and flights from here to Hawaii were really pricey, we didn't plan on it. A few days before the trip, my sister Kelly and her hubby decided to go. They were bringing their baby Halle and called us and told us we HAD to go too! Things worked out, flight prices dropped, Bill got the time off, and we WENT! YAHOO! Talk about spontaneous! Who says we can't be crazy mid-30's? It was a blast.

My mom has ALWAYS wanted to skydive but would never do it when she was a young mom. She had to check it off her bucket list this time, so some of our group obliged and joined her. Talk about young parents--- between these guys there's 18 kids who may be orphans if things didn't turn out ok! :)

Bill getting prepped... this is what he'd look like afterwards if he didn't make it. ha ha

And he's almost down!!!!!! WOO HOO! Take a breath of relief!

Bill & my oldest brother Tyler giving a high 5! "That was wicked awesome!"

Kelly can't even talk, she's so amazed.

They all made it! The brave skydivers! They dove from 14,000 feet- the highest you can jump without oxygen!

Can you tell who's the California beach baby and who has never touched the ocean?

This is on the beach where Lost is filmed. They sent the PA (production assistant) 1/2 mile down the beach to tell us we were in the shot which is supposed to be on a deserted island. Woulda kind of ruined the idea of them being "lost." lol.

There's my beach boy-- all warm and snuggled in his carseat. That's what he's used to!

Beach babies! Halle's trying to escape- and eventually does!

Nevermind the signs... REBEL PARENTS!
This guy was hilarious! He was at the Polynesian Cultural Center and was the hit of the entire day. My brother's had to be groupies and take a pic.
Look at my brothers and their wives... aren't they so cute?!?!?!
Bill, Julie, Kelly, and Darrin on the grounds of the Laie, Hawaii temple

Can we go back? Today!? PLEEEEEAAAASEEEEE!

Aloha and Mahalo

The last time I heard this was Friday night as we deplaned from Honolulu, HI. "WAIT!!! I want to go back... it was too short! What? My mini-vacay is over already!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" It was paradise. Pictures to come soon...

WOW... Avatar!

Ok, so I'm a little late jumping on this bandwagon, but seriously folks... we just went and saw "Avatar" last night and I must say, it was FAAAAANNNNtastic!!!!!!!!! This, coming from a non sci-fi kinda girl too. I absolutely loved it!
And how beautiful is Neytiri? I was in awe... wouldn't mind that body! 7 ft. tall!

They were seriously so connected, such a beautiful couple. Is it strange that I find them beautiful? I never did before I saw the movie.

Really makes you think--- everyone has differences, but everyone has to live in this big bad world, can't we all just get along and live in beauty like the Na'vi did on Pandora before the humans came in? It was an amazing movie. Loved it.

Sibling Love...

is your house feeling it? Our's certainly is. (see conversation with Hunter below.)

Hunter: "Our house is so much quieter without Hannah here." (she's at a friend's house, and I have to admit it is true, but quiet doesn't mean better!)
Mom: "Yeah, but I miss her when she's not here."
Hunter: "I don't."
Mom: "You know Hunter, one day you'll wish you hadn't said that. You'll all be grown and gone your separate ways and you'll miss your sister. You'll realize then how much you love her."
Hunter: "Whatever. I'm willing to bet you 5% of my income when I'm a grown man that I will NEVER like Hannah."
Mom: "Hunter! Don't say that!! Besides, you're wrong- and your wife is going to be really mad when you're writing me a big check every month!"
Hunter: "Fine- 1%. But I still won't like her."

Soon it will be very apparent that I am right and he is wrong. I remember my parents saying the EXACT same words to me when I'd complain about one sibling or another. Fast forward to now-- there isn't a thing I wouldn't do to be with my siblings... any one of them. I'd drop everything and RUN to hang out with them. I love them all and miss them everyday. One day we'll get there... until then, stay tuned for more "sibling love stories."

Lunch

This is what I want for lunch:

This is what I SHOULD have:

Which am I going to choose? Who knows... I am stressed to the limit and I am a "stress eater." There's just too much going on for a girl like me to handle. I can't even begin to list it all--- the list is endless and it keeps growing. I think I'll just skip lunch altogether and take a nap. Ya right.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dear Dayne...

Today you are 3 months old...
I can't believe you've only been "alive" (in the outside-the-womb world) for only 3 months, and yet you've changed our lives so drastically!

We love you more every day!!! (how could we not with that cute little milk mouth?)

You are:
cooing like a champ
sleeping 6-8 hours at night :)
smiling up a storm
fitting into the "cute clothes"
outgrowing your nightgowns :(
not fitting into newborn diapers anymore
kicking your little legs and finding your fingers
cared for by many siblings
a better nurser than you were 3 months ago!
still enjoying your bottles too
holding your head up well
ALMOST rolling over... so close! (if you were ever put down for long enough you'd do it!)
loving your baths
just about laughing
so stinking cute
the joy of our lives!!

Happy 3 month birthday baby!

Easter Wear...

With Easter being the same day as our semi-annual General Conference that we watch at home in PJ's... we had to start wearing our Easter getup early this year! Here we are all ready for church---
I bet the people who sit behind us think we can't sit still for even a second... well, we can, surprisingly!!!

Just because he's so darn cute...

And the little guy--

I give up--- just let me sleep!!!

Megan and Abby's Visit

We had so much fun when Megan and Abby came to visit... from late night nursing talks to shopping with newborns to playing games, we did it all. Except take a bunch of pictures! The last night Megan and Abby were here, we ran over to my neighbor's house for a quick photo shoot! Thanks Richard, you are so talented!!! Here's a few snapshots from that night...
True Texas Cowboy

Angel

Mom and baby

How could he stay asleep?

Now he's the grumpy one...

Love Abby's smirk... she's so animated!

Now they're both D.O.N.E.!!

Of course, Hannah had to get in on the action! Love those 2nd grader teeth!

Cute girl

And Darling Abby- she is seriously the cutest. Nevermind that Megan dresses her to the nines everywhere they go. Always a bow and a bracelet! I am living vicariously through her--

Thanks for coming Megs, we miss you already!! Come BACK!!!!!!!
