LOTS of pictures...

Ok, so in order to get one more thing checked off my list (see next post about my lists), here's my big random update w/ pics of the last few weeks. Hey, at least I remembered to get out the camera! Pretty proud of myself, actually.
So, we had snow, twice in one week. It was pretty crazy. The first time we got just over an inch. The second time, 2 days later- we got 4 to 5 inches! School was 2 hours delayed and it was a winter wonderland ... the kids had so much fun!

Dad even joined in. He was the biggest kid of all!

Hannah lost BOTH front teeth in the space of about a week or so. She's a slirpin', slitherin', sassy little girl now. Her permanent teeth haven't quite dropped down yet. Excited to see those!!
We had open house at the school. The kids had fun showing off all their hard work.
On Sat., the 15th of March- we had our ward Easter Egg Hunt. It was a brunch/hunt at a park near our house. It was SO COLD and WINDY! Mom didn't quite dress everyone right for the occasion, I was going for the "look" of pastels and warm Easter hunting, didn't check the weather! Oops!

Dad turned 34 on March 21st! YEAH! We spent the day at a VERY crowded Ft. Worth Zoo. We had a great family day though and got a few snapshots of our time there.
We went to TGIFridays on the way home for dinner with our whole crew and ended the day with strawberry cheesecake at home (not Bill's mom's homemade, didn't taste as good, but it looked good!) and went to bed! We were worn out from the zoo.

Barrett wouldn't take off his FBI hat even for bed... he loves to look like daddy!

And lastly, the kids had a great time coloring eggs. They each wanted to do a ton! Thus, we are having lots of meals having to do with boiled eggs in them! I think we dyed 18 eggs total! Don't mind the bathing suits... they got them for Easter and were trying them on!

GOOD TIMES, GOOD TIMES!

Serious lack of sleep...

A few moments to show my serious lack of sleep...

Yesterday was Bauer's 1 month checkup at the Pediatrician. Upon arriving, I went to sign in. Just as I was signing Bauer's name, my great friend Sarita Gilchrist walked out of the office. I was SO HAPPY to see her and we started chatting.
Moments later, the nurse called, "Mrs. Gilchrist?" Sarita went up to the counter-
Nurse: "Wait, weren't you just back there?"
Sarita: "Yes, we just came out."
Nurse: "You don't have a baby named Bauer, do you?"
Sarita: "Nope. Julie! Isn't his name Bauer?"
Julie: "Yes-- why?"
Nurse: "You signed his name Bauer Gilchrist."

NICE!!!!!! How embarrassing. I don't even know my own kids' name. Um, actually Sarita, I've been meaning to talk to you about that... HA HA HA.

I should have taken a picture of the laundry before I started it yesterday. I am on load #9 and there's still 2 more to go. The boys have been wearing some pretty "interesting" (that's what we'll call it!) outfits. We were totally out of burpcloths (which says a lot since I have about 16 for Bauer)... I was carrying around dish towels and using my own shirt. And it didn't even phase me.

I have to make lists for EVERYTHING. Otherwise it gets forgotten and doesn't get done (sometimes it still doesn't get done, but at least it's not forgotten)! As you can imagine, I have lots and lots of lists- it's amazing I don't have to remind myself to go to the bathroom. Luckily, after having 5 kids, my bladder is plenty good at that. Ever gone to the bathroom wearing a baby bjorn? Been there, done that, 3-4 x a day. Poor kid.

Bauer's stats at 1 month old:
9 lbs. 11 oz. ~~~Chunkin' up little guy!! 65%tile
20 3/4 inches ~~~lacking in the height category a bit. 40%tile (he's just like me, I'm not overweight, just undertall.)
15 1/4 inch head ~~~Big Noggin! We got lots of brains in this family. Have you seen Barrett's head? Good thing he's got a cute face on the front of it! It's huge!

Ok, that's all I can remember to post for now. Happy Day!

Happy Easter!

We've had a great Easter today! It was wonderful to go back to church and feel the spirit so strongly on such a special day. I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ. I feel so blessed.

Here's a picture of all 5 kids. Not the best, but they're all there- Count 'Em!! Hopefully we'll get a better one next weekend when we bless Bauer.

I know I am miserably behind on posts. I've got pictures and stuff to say about 4-5 different happenings with our family lately... (bday's, outings, snow days, etc.) HOWEVER-- there is rarely a time when I have 2 hands free for more than about 2 minutes. I'm either nursing or rocking or changing a diaper or cooking (washing my hands in between!) or SOMETHING. So, one of these days- hopefully this week- I'll get around to some much needed updates. But for now, here's a picture of the culprit of my lack of blogging. He's pretty cute! 4 week old Bauer:

3 weeks... where has the time gone?!

Bauer is 3 weeks old today! I can't believe it! He is SOOOO cute and such a good baby. He is quite content as long as he's being held... thank goodness we have lots of arms that love to hold in this family! We're still working on the sleep thing, but the past few nights have been a little better! I just have to forget that I LOVE SLEEP!!!

There's so many things I need to do- one of which includes taking him somewhere to get professional pictures taken... and I haven't downloaded my pics from the camera recently-- so ya'll are gonna have to wait to get another peek at him! SORRY!!

Just trying to stay above water here! On Wednesday (all at the same time) I got thrown up on, peed on, pooped on, and then glanced over at Barrett who had a VERY MESSY & STINKY diaper. The thought came to mind, "What am I doing?! I am 33 years old (ouch!) and covered in human waste." But it quickly left and a much better feeling came into my heart... I am doing exactly what I want to be doing- being a stay-at-home mom, raising 5 beautiful children who have very different and wonderful qualities that keep our family happy and laughing. It's quite the circus around here and Bill's convinced we should never leave the house w/ all 7 of us at once, but it'll calm down one day-- we hope!

Brock and Barrett are both sick w/ colds. It is quite the challenge to explain to Barrett why he can't KISS KISS KISS on Bauer. He is so lovey with him! I've kept Barrett home for almost a month now to keep him away from germs... where did he get this?! AHHH! I guess we can't all live in a bubble, as much as I'd love to!

Well, this has turned out to be a rather random post- but that's kinda my life lately! RANDOM... trying to do all the things I know I should do, while still trying to sneak in a nap here and there to stay sane, while MAKING myself sit down and enjoy nursing Bauer instead of nursing & cleaning at the same time, while making lists in my head everywhere I go, while trying to keep up with the other 4 kids and their activities, homework, sports, lessons, and laundry! Talk about a run-on life! All is well... I promise pictures next time! Now, if I can get a shower before- WAAAAHHHHH!!!!! Too late!

TWILIGHT... Stephenie Meyer to visit FRISCO!

So, I haven't posted about my obsession (along with thousands of others) of the Twilight series of books written by Stephenie Meyer. BUT- I read them all in about 2 weeks' time- which is amazing for me as I feel SO GUILTY reading and not getting stuff done! The books are amazing and I can't wait for the 4th one to come out on Aug. 2nd... YEAH!! Clear the calendar for a few days everyone!
