We may have a band nerd among us!

OR

OR

We had Hunter's band audition this morning. He was so nervous and excited! He first met w/ Mr. A for percussion. He did very well and scored quite high. Mr. A recommended him for percussion and he was thrilled!
Next, he met w/ Mr. T. He told Mr. T that he wanted to play percussion first and saxophone second. So he had him try the sax. He couldn't make his mouth just right and didn't get a sound out of the sax. So he tried the trombone (3rd choice)... still no sound. Trumpet, no sound. Mr. T said, "Can I recommend an instrument for you?" Think of Hunter's BIG 'OL lips and guess which one he recommended-- the tuba! And it was beautiful! He puckered those lips and blew right into the mouthpiece... the sound was amazing! Kinda made Hunter jump at first! He was surprised, but so excited... he blew again and loved it! Mr. T told him to make his mouth wider and smaller and see what that did to the notes. He made a higher sound first and then dropped it really low. It was so cool!!
Lastly, he met w/ Mr. V. He wanted to try one more instrument-- the bassoon. And boy did he nail that one! He blew into it and really loved it as well. Made some strong sounds and even played different notes w/ Mr. V's help. He was in heaven. He said he'd be happy with any of the three instrument classes. He just wants to play! He could have stayed there all day and can't stop talking about it. This band is going to be awesome for him!
I've never seen a kid so happy as when we left the audition. He was flying!! He waited until we rounded the corner, out of sight of anyone he knew and did an all out jump and hand pump! He promptly called Papa Seamons to tell him about it... Hunter is dying to be his grandfather's protege! His heart is in music.
He is our music man! ... 76 trombones (or bassoons!) in the big parade!

Happy Happy Birthday Billy!!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful hubby! He's 35 today! Can't believe it!! He's accomplished so much and has so much to be proud of in his 35 years! Here's to another great year babe!!

He always has to make sure his stuff fits by doing this crazy test!
A new spa robe... he's tired of watching me get out of the hot tub and get all warm and cuddly in my robe- so I got him one of his own!

Bill's parents sent him a little taste of home...

Too bad it wasn't the food!!! Cute idea!

That night, we went out to dinner at one of our fav's ... JinBeh Japanese Steakhouse. YUMMMMMYY!

Thanks to a few of our friends for celebrating with us! Happy Birthday Billy!

Talk about a WILD Spring Break!!!

Partay On!! With 7 kids, 4 adults, and one very excited dog... this house was rockin'!!! My sister Kelly and her family came to visit from California. It was soooo fun! She's got most of the pics on her camera, but I thought I'd go ahead and post the pics from our fun day on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. It was so cool!

Well... let's try this again next month!

It was COLD, bitter cold. Like never got above 40 degrees cold... and the sun never came out and it drizzled all day Friday and Saturday. What a joy! We sold 3 items in the entire 2 days... and those 3 people were a few of the 100 people who showed up all weekend. But we were ready!! Our booth looked really cute and we were so excited! This market usually brings in between 30-40,000 people in one weekend! We just chose the wrong month to start. That or mother nature had it out for us!!

Callie and I posed for a picture in front of our booth and asked our "neighbor vendor" to snap a pic... he kinda missed!

Isn't it so cute~!!?? I'd walk into this booth!

And wouldn't you know it-- on Sunday it was beautiful! 60 degrees and sun shining. And we were at church where we were supposed to be. Get thee hence Satan!!! We will not give up! See ya next month trade days! Hope you are nicer to us!!

Trade Days!

Well, I've been busy... real busy! My friend Callie and I have started a new business. Now before y'all start saying, "Another thing Julie? Why can't you just sit still!?! You've always gotta be doing something!" ... let me just say that it's similar to Peekaboobaby in that we're making stuff for kids, so the two go together.

Introducing: Sassy Patch !!! (the website is not up yet, but check back soon!) We are embellishers of kid's clothes. We take something plain and boring and make it fun and sassy!! For boys and girls alike. And boy have we had fun doing it! We've spent the last month getting ready for our Trade Day flea market which is this weekend... for a preview of what we'll be selling, check out my snapfish album.

Seriously SO SASSY!!! Wish us luck! Oh, and if you're in the area, stop by and say "Hi!" We'll be in booth O-9 both Friday and Saturday from 8-5.
